weird boots?

I was getting ready for work this morning, and felt like wearing a skirt. So I did. When I was looking through my shoe collection deciding what to wear, I found these beautiful boots I had bought about a month ago, which I have never worn, still in their untouched state, lying in the shoe box. I thought they were really cool.

Aren't they?

NOT exactly.

On closer inspection, I found they looked rather odd. If you look closely, you'll see why.

The silly cow at the store gave me two right ones! Grr!

And if that wasn't bad enough, look EVEN CLOSER.

That REALLY silly lady gave me two right ones of different sizes! I mean, come on. How in the world am I supposed to wear them now. I distinctly remember trying both sides on in the store, so my guess is that she had put the display one into the box together with one of the ones I tried on. Argh.

I will have to take them back to the store and hopefully they will let me have the correct ones this time. I haven't even got the receipt anymore so I'm not keeping my hopes up.

Wish me luck though........................

easter and happy times

My sister and her fiance are visiting over the Easter holidays. On Good Friday we went to Bedfordale for a little RnR, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Everything was closed anyway so I had booked two chalets down there, brought a couple of friends along and went rowing along the lake, marron catching and generally enjoying the "wilderness", for lack of a better word. We played some family games - Rapidoh, Fact or Crap, and nearly played Battle of the Sexes, but the boys weren't too keen. That's only because they're afraid we'd kick their asses ;)

Here they are, having some yummy food my mum cooked, with the little lake behind them. The chalets have steps that go straight into the water, and each chalet has a little orange dinghy for your own use. My sister absolutely loves them. I think if the dinghy would fit in her suitcase, she would pack it up and bring it home with her. So sad, I know.

One thing they've both missed since they left Perth is Bubble Tea! So my mum and I took them to Utopia in the city so they could satisfy their craving.

I had some Grass Jelly + Milk bubbletea. Never tried it before, found it slightly strange but quite pleasant.

happy birthday to me

I turned 24 yesterday. Yikes, I feel old. Especially since my niece turned 4 the day before, and having these little kiddies around just makes me feel even older.

I had a quiet one though. Had a birthday lunch with my colleagues, had dinner with mum and the boy, and that was pretty much it.

Thanks to everyone who texted me all throughout the day, and everyone who sent msn msgs. They really made my day :)

Oh yes, presents! I got heaps! Jewellery, handbags, limited collector's coins, Body shop pack, pasta scoop thing (Thanks Julia!!), and lots of shopping vouchers. I absolutely LOVE shopping vouchers. I got a Harbourtown voucher, Myer voucher, Dymocks voucher, and Myer even sent me a little birthday present! I felt special. (Yes, I'm a sucker for marketing, but it worked!)

I love birthdays. Especially mine. =D
